The filament combines all the properties of PLA, is easy to process and has a high strength. Thanks to the enrichment of the material phosphorescent pigments, the aesthetic effect is further increased, especially in the dark.

The material that glows

The filaments are manufactured on the basis of polylactic acid (PLA). As a result, Spectrum PLA Glow in the Dark filaments are biodegradable as usual, have a high printing efficiency and a high tensile strength. In order for the material to glow, Spectrum PLA Glow in the Dark is enriched with concentrated phosphorescent pigments, which creates the effect of photoluminescence, or more precisely, a phosphorescence. This phenomenon makes it possible, after previous exposure to an external light source, to glow with its own light. The enrichment with the pigment does not cause any disadvantages for the material, because the pigments have a neutral effect on the material.

Decoration or signpost?

Since the PLA Glow in the Dark filaments have the ability, after prior exposure, to glow on their own, the models produced are not only suitable as decorative objects, but can also be useful helpers to find the way in case of power failures. By selectively controlling the wall thickness and filling density, you also have the ability to regulate" the light intensity of the elements.
